Our Story

Building a Foundation for Life

Makwasha Primary School has been a cornerstone of quality education in our community for over two decades. Since its founding, the school has held firm to a belief that every child, regardless of background, deserves a nurturing and rigorous education.

Our staff are deeply committed to the individual growth of each learner. We combine a strong academic curriculum with sport, the arts, and civic values — preparing pupils not only for secondary school, but for a life of purpose and contribution.

We work closely with parents and the wider community because we know that a child's education does not happen in isolation. Together, we create the conditions for lasting success.

Academic Rigour

High expectations and strong teaching give every learner the tools they need to succeed.

Community

We build strong bonds between pupils, families, teachers, and the broader community.

Character

Integrity, respect, and responsibility are woven through everything we do at school.

Inclusion

Every learner is valued. We ensure no child is left behind or left out.

Academic Offering

Our Programmes

A well-rounded curriculum from Grade 1 to Grade 7, designed to develop the whole child — intellectually, physically, and morally.

01
Literacy & Numeracy

Fluency in reading, writing, and mathematics is the foundation of all further learning. Our lower primary programme gives every child a confident and capable start.

02
Science & Technology

Hands-on experiments and inquiry-led lessons spark natural curiosity and prepare learners for a world increasingly shaped by science and innovation.

03
Arts & Culture

Music, visual arts, drama, and the study of Zimbabwean heritage nurture creativity, identity, and pride in who our learners are and where they come from.

04
Sport & Physical Education

Football, netball, athletics and more build teamwork, discipline, resilience, and the lifelong habit of physical wellbeing in every learner.

05
Social Studies & Heritage

History, geography, and civics help our pupils understand their country, their community, and their responsibilities as future citizens of Zimbabwe.

06
Learner Support

We are committed to inclusive education. Tailored support ensures every learner, regardless of ability or learning difference, can participate and thrive.
